We all have seen shows such as; American Idol and The Voice. There are even some of us who will remember a show called Star Search. All of these shows have individuals who compete to see who has the best talent.
The Janesville Craig High School Spotlighters did not appear on American Idol or The Voice, but they did compete and placed third in a national show choir competition in Branson, MO. This win qualified them for the national finals that will be held in Chicago, IL on April 26.
The Spotlighters are directed by Adam Miller. He states “The kids gave what I feel was their best show of the year. They have worked incredibly hard this year at not becoming complacent and really have grown each time they performed.”
The team competed against 11 other teams from Colorado, Minnesota, Ohio, Texas, Missouri, Nebraska, Mississippi and Wisconsin. The Spotlighters were the only team from Wisconsin to qualify for the national finals.
Adam Miller is in his first year after taking over the 72-member choir from former instructor Robert Schrank, who retired after leading the choir for 10 years.
