The season of thanks and giving is rapidly approaching. It’s a special time for our district as we kick off the fifth year of our community food drive called Delivering Bags of Hope.
Our goal is to supply families with two weeks of groceries. School District of Janesville social workers will compile a list of families receiving the donated items.
Our staff, students, community members and businesses contributed more than $43,000 last year. Local businesses donated food products, the distribution site and materials to the overall effort.
We have until the end of the day Friday, November 8 to order a Bags of Hope T-shirt to guarantee delivering in time for the event. Samples are in your building’s main office. Please turn money into your school secretary and make checks payable to Craig High School. Any questions should be directed to Fritz Elsen at email@example.com.
Monetary donations for Delivering Bags of Hope this year will be accepted through November 22, 2013. The generosity of our community will allow us to distribute groceries to more than 350 families and 50 senior citizens throughout the community. Please make checks payable to: School District of Janesville - Bags of Hope and deliver or mail to Denise Jensen, School District of Janesville, 527 S. Franklin St., Janesville, WI 53548.
Bagging activities are scheduled to begin this year at 7:00 a.m. Delivery will begin at 9:30 a.m. If you would like to volunteer to help bag or deliver, please fill out the volunteer sign-up sheet located in your building’s main office.
