The School District of Janesville Continues Enrollment Upswing

For the second year in a row the School District of Janesville (SDJ) has a reason to celebrate, as our enrollment numbers have increased. The Third Friday September 2013 Count reveals student enrollment has increased by 45 students in comparison to last year’s increase of 18 students. The School District of Janesville's Third Friday September 2013 enrollment count was 10,351 including charter schools.

The School District of Janesville is very pleased that student enrollment is increasing and is optimistic this trend will continue, considering the most recent academic recognitions the district has received. For example; the School District of Janesville (SDJ) scored in the Exceeds Expectations category with a 74.8 for the Overall Accountability Score on the first State of Wisconsin District Report Card. The 2012-2013 School Report Cards are also very encouraging: Two SDJ schools Met Expectations, fourteen Exceeded Expectations, and one Significantly Exceeded Expectations.

In addition, State Superintendent Tony Evers announced 167 Wisconsin Title I School of Recognition awards for the 2013-14 academic year, an honor that recognizes success in educating students from low-income families and the following seven School District of Janesville schools received this state recognition: Jackson, Jefferson, Lincoln, Madison and Roosevelt Elementary as well as Edison and Franklin Middle Schools.
